Pool Boiling Heat Transfer Experiments for Nano Particles in Water and Toluene

A new class of heat transfer fluid, called nanofluid, is engineered by dispersing nanometer-sized traditional heat transfer fluids to increase thermal conductivity performance. We focus on quantifying and understanding the source of greater than expected thermal properties of nanosuspensions, in particular ceria nanoparticles, in water using the boiling curve of the pool boiling experiment. Nanofluids can be used as potential coolants to improve thermal management system applications.
